Old World Wisconsin Outdoor Living History Museum Opens May 1st for the 2012 season. It is easy to spend the entire day touring this ethnic museum depicting settlement times in Wisconsin. Situated in the Southern Kettle Moraine one can hike or ride the tram (tram ride included in ticket price) between the villages. Your day might start at the Yankee Village where you’ll visit a General Store, working blacksmith, stagecoach inn, shoemaker, 1839 Greek Revival Church and home, plus barns and more! Continue on to the African American site, the German / Polish area that boasts fabulous German architecture and finally the Scandinavian area. Observe the Heritage animals and view the vintage gardens. Visit Caldwell Hall where there are hands on games and crafts for the younger visitors. There is something of interest for all ages. You won’t want to miss the Museum Gift Shop and Clausing Barn Restaurant.

The holiday package rates range from $210-$269 (plus tax) per couple depending on the bedchamber selected, and includes two tickets for the dinner and theatre, plus a one-night stay at the Bed and Breakfast which includes a full, candlelit breakfast. All items have been donated from private donors to raise funds in support of the Wisconsin Historical Society. The auction is sponsored by the FRIENDS of WHS.
